Best Bunk Beds For Small Rooms

Best Bunk Beds For Small Rooms
Finding the best bunk beds for a small room is a little challenging when you don't know the measurements of the bed and it might be time consuming to find out that information. So I have spent some time to help others to find out that information. You can also check out other wooden best bunk beds with stairs and drawers by clicking the hyper link.

Please do measure your room first before making that purchase. You don't want to buy one that won't be able to fit and having to return it. Tell you honestly, it is a hassle to return furniture since they are heavier than other items and some stores might not honor the returns.

They also give you a very limited period of time and they will most likely make you pay for the returning fees and maybe restocking fees. Do note, shipping a heavy item will cost a lot more money than a light item.

I have highlighted the measurements for each style of bed in green color for an easy glance and converted it into feet to help you understand it a lot better. I usually go by feet instead of inches. The beds posted on here are the ones that I think are the best.

When you are measuring your room, make sure the ceiling is about 2 to 3 feet away from the top bunk bed and that is due to safety precautions.
Another thing to note is when you are buying a mattress for the top bunk make sure to buy one that is NOT higher than the recommended inches for thickness. The guard rail won't be able to protect your kid from falling off if it is too thick.

5 Cool Best Bunk Beds For Small Spaces

Walker Edison Solid Wood Twin Bunk Bed

Walker Edison Solid Wood Twin Bunk Bed
This is a twin size bed with a measurement of 65 inches in height, 42 inches in width and 80 inches in length.

If you convert it into feet, it would be 5 feet in height, 3.5 feet in width and length is 6.6 feet.

The picture on the left is featuring the Espresso color. There are 6 other colors to select from like the Gray, Cherry, Black, Honey, Natural and White.

That is like seven colors to select from on this style. I like the black color one since my bedroom is also in that color.

The weight for this one is not that heavy. It is about 118 pounds. It is still heavy for one person to bring into the house. The weight limit for this bed is 250 pounds for each bunk.

The top and bottom bunks are both the same in the size of twin. You should get both mattresses in twin size.

The recommended mattress for the top bunk is NO more than 6 inches. Of course, the bottom bunk can use a little thicker if you choose to, like 8 inches. This style can turn into two separate beds in two rooms or in a single room if the room is big enough. This bed does have a sturdy climbing ladder to the top and it also has full length guard rails.

Oh, yeah this is made with solid wood and not like plastic or metal. If you have a thing for wood and the measurement fits your room then go for this one.

Discovery World Furniture Twin over Full Bunk Bed

Discovery World Furniture Twin over Full Bunk Bed
This one looks a lot different than the above one. It is a twin over full bunk bed with a slide in and out trundle under the bottom bunk. Of course, the trundle has wheels.

If you don't want to use the trundle as a bed then you can use it as a storage, but it is handy if you have guests who want to spend the night with your kids.

The trundle is in twin size. You should get a twin mattress NO more than 6 and 1/2 inches for the trundle, because a larger one won't fit. A 6 inch thickness will do fine.

The top bunk is in twin size with a guard rail for protection and it does have a built in ladder to get to the top bunk.

The bed doesn't require a bunkie board or a box spring like an old traditional bed. Mattresses for both top and bottom can't be over 9 inches thick when combining with the foundations.

The top bunk might be a better option with a twin size 6 inch mattress and the bottom bunk is a full size. I would probably get an 8 inch. Oh right, I forgot to mention the measurement for this style bed. The width is about 57 inches, the length is 78 inches and the height is 66 inches. Let's convert that into feet. The width is 4.75 feet, the length is 6.5 feet and height is 5.5 feet.

DHP Twin Over Twin Size Double Bed

DHP Twin Over Twin Size Double Bed
Here is another twin over twin double bunk bed. It is great for smaller rooms. There are two available colors to select from for this design which are black and silver. I prefer the silver color for this style.

This is a very simple bed and it is made out of metal. So, it costs a lot less than the other wood kinds, at least at the time of writing this post.

If you are currently on a tight budget and need an extra bed then this is the one you should go for. It does have a built in ladder and it is not possible to put this style into two separate beds.

The weight limit for this bed is 200 pounds for the top and 225 pounds for the bottom. The measurement is about 78 inches in length, 41.5 inches in width and 61.5 inches in height. Ok, when converting it into feet it is 6.5 feet for length, 3.45 feet for width and 5.12 feet for height. This item weighs about 86 pounds.

The top bunk should use a twin size 6 inch mattress or under.

Furniture of America Pammy Twin over Queen Bunk Bed

Furniture of America Pammy Twin over Queen Bunk Bed
This one is the Furniture of America Pammy with a size of twin over Queen. Some of you might like to have a queen size bunk bed, so I decided to share it on this post.

The measurement might be bigger and the available color for this design is in Oak finish. The material for this bed is solid wood and veneer.

It doesn't include the trundle with drawers. You would have to buy them separately. You can click here to get it, if you decided to choose this design.

It looks just as good without it, but you will have an extra sleeping bed and three drawers to put away your clothes for storage if you buy it. The measurement for this bed is 86.75 inches in length, 64.75 inches in width and 71.75 inches in height. For the feet it is 7.22 feet for the length, 5.39 feet for the width and the height is 5.97 feet. That is close to 6 feet.

Woodcrest Heartland Triple Bunk Bed

Woodcrest Heartland Triple Bunk Bed
Have you seen one of these triple bunk beds? To be honest, this is the first time I am seeing it. I didn't even know before doing some research.

This definitely will save a lot of space in your room. This triple bunk bed is in twin over twin with a honey color.

It is constructed with solid pine wood. It is possible to split this design into three separate twin size beds if you choose to do it at a later time.

The measurement for this set is 81 inches for length, 43 inches for width and 76.5 inches in height. So for the feet measurement it is 6.75 feet for the length, 3.58 feet for width and as for height, it is 6.37 feet.

This is a great bed if you have three kids with their ages very close to each other and it is great if you have triplet kids.

I have seen a lot of people asking if the bunk beds include the mattress with the purchase. Sadly, it is a no. You would have to buy them separately. When buying a mattress, you would go buy accordingly with the bed size you are planning to buy.
For example, if I am planning to buy a twin over twin size bed then I would have to buy two twin size mattresses for the top bunk and bottom bunk in the standard twin size but I would have to choose the thickness for the mattress. I hope that helps for buying a mattress size.
Another thing to note is all the beds require assembly. You either do it yourself or pay someone to do it for you.
